About the Draw

Q. What is the Niagara Mega 50/50 Draw?
The Niagara Mega 50/50 is a licensed electronic lottery in support of Hospice Niagara. Individuals purchase tickets for a chance to win early bird prizes and a final grand prize The lottery is licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and administered by Hospice Niagara.


Q. When are the draws and what can I win?

Early Bird Draws:

·        May 27, 2025 – $10,000 at 3:00 PM

·        June 24, 2025 – $10,000 at 3:00 PM

·        July 22, 2025 – $10,000 at 3:00 PM

·        August 19, 2025 – $10,000 at 3:00 PM

·        September 9, 2025 – 2025 Silverado 1500 Crew Custom 4WD (Value: $74,491.30) at 3:00 PM


Final Draw:

·        Friday, September 12, 2025, at 12:00 PM – Estimated Prize as shown on www.mega5050.ca.

 

Q. Where does the money go?
50% of ticket sales go to the prize pot. The remaining 50% supports Hospice Niagara programs and services. Learn more at www.hospiceniagara.ca.

 

Ticket Information

Q. Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets can be purchased:

·        Online at www.mega5050.ca

·        In person at Hospice Niagara (403 Ontario St. Unit 2, St. Catharines, ON)

·        At select community events

·        By calling 905-984-8766, ext. 6

 

Q. When can I buy tickets?

From May 13, 2025 until September 12, 2025 at 12:00 PM (Noon).

 

Q. What are the ticket prices?

·        1 ticket for $20

·        20 tickets for $40

·        100 tickets for $50

·        250 tickets for $100

·        500 tickets for $175


Q. How many tickets can be sold?
There is no limit to the total number of tickets available.

 

Q. How do I receive my ticket?

Online purchasers will receive their tickets by email within five business days. Please check your junk, spam, and promotional folders. Tickets are delivered as “Niagara Mega 50/50 Draw” from events@hospiceniagara.ca. If not received within that time, email events@hospiceniagara.ca or call 905-984-8242 x240.

In-person buyers will receive printed tickets at the point of sale.

 

Q. Can I buy tickets in someone else’s name?
Tickets must be purchased by someone who is 18 years or older, located in Ontario at the time of purchase. The primary purchaser can include up to two additional names on a ticket, but only the primary purchaser is recognized as the official ticket holder and will be contacted if the ticket wins. If additional names are listed, it is the primary purchaser’s sole responsibility to privately distribute any prize winnings.

 

Q. Why is there a limit to the number of ticket bundles I can buy per order?

There is no limit to the total number of tickers you can purchase. However, our lottery system allows a maximum of ten bundles per order. If you would like to purchase more than that, please place a separate order.

 

Q. Can I get a refund?
All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be issued. If you believe an error was made with your purchase, please contact our office at 905-984-8766 x240 or events@hospiceniagara.ca prior to the draw.

 

Q. Is my ticket tax deductible?
No. According to Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations, charity lottery ticket purchases are considered entertainment and are not eligible for tax receipts.

 

Q. How can I pay for my online 50/50 tickets?
We accept:

·        Credit Card

·        Visa Debit/MasterCard Debit

·        Google Pay/Apple Pay

Cash, debit, or cheques will not be accepted for online purchases.

 

Q. How can I pay for my Point of Sale tickets?
We accept:

·        Credit Card

·        Visa Debit/MasterCard Debit

·        Google Pay/Apple Pay

·        Cash

Cheques are not accepted.

 

Q. How does BUMP generate tickets?

All aspects of the Niagara Mega 50/50 Draw are managed using AGCO-approved digital raffle software provided by BUMP.

 

Q. Why haven't I received my ticket confirmation email?

First, check your junk, spam, or promotions folders. Once you locate the email, mark this as "not junk" or a safe sender so emails from Hospice Niagara will be directed to your inbox. If still missing, please contact events@hospiceniagara.ca with:

 

·        Your name

·        The name the tickets were purchased under

·        Date of purchase

·        The email address the tickets should have been sent to

 

Eligibility

Q. Who is eligible to buy tickets?
You are eligible if you:

·        Are 18 years of age or older at the time of purchase

·        Are physically located in the Province of Ontario at time of purchase

You are not eligible if are:

·        A member of Hospice Niagara’s Board of Directors or anyone in the same household

·        An employee of Hospice Niagara or anyone in the same household

·        A registered gaming supplier, BUMP employee, or anyone involved with providing services to this lottery

Eligibility is verified at the time of purchase.

Winning & Prizes

Q. How are winners chosen?
Winners are selected using AGCO-approved Random Number Generator (RNG) software, administered by BUMP.

 

Q. How will I know if I won?
Winners are notified in by phone and/or email. Winning numbers will be posted on www.mega5050.ca within 48 hours of each draw.

 

Q. How are cash prizes paid?
Cash prizes are issued by cheque and mailed within four weeks following the each draw.

 

Q. What happens to unclaimed prizes?
Unclaimed prizes are held for six (6) months. After that, they are reported to AGCO and may be redirected to charitable use.

 

Q. How do I claim my prize?
Winners will be contacted by phone and/or email with instructions on how to claim their prize. Prizes must be claimed within six (6) months of the prize draw.

Please note: Only the name listed as the primary purchaser is eligible to claim the prize. Hospice Niagara is not responsible for splitting prizes between individuals listed on the ticket.


Q. How will the winner be notified?

All winners will be notified by telephone and/or email as to their win and how to claim their prize. All winning ticket numbers and prize amounts will be posted on Niagara Mega 50/50 Draw website following the draws. Prizes will be awarded to the registered ticket buyer.


Website & Technical Help

Q. Why does mega5050.ca require my location and/or why am I receiving the following prompt – Example: "mega5050.ca would like to use your current location?"
Your current location is required to confirm eligibility. The lottery will be offered throughout the Province of Ontario (the "Raffle Area"). Void outside the Raffle Area and where prohibited by law, rule, or regulation.

Q. What if I already selected "Don't Allow"?
Reloading the page should cause you to be prompted to share your location again. If you have specified that you never want to share your location, you will need to go into your settings to allow. See below for instructions.

 

Q. What if I receive the following prompt: "You must allow your browser to share your location to purchase tickets, please click OK/Close to reload this page, and then be sure to allow your browser to share your location to share your location when prompted"?

The browser should reload the page and ask you to share location upon loading.

Note: In some browsers, the popup may say "Close" instead of "OK"

 

Q. I entered the incorrect email and did not print my tickets, how can I get my tickets resent?
Please email events@hospiceniagara.ca or give us a call at 905-984-8766 x241.

Q: What if I cannot purchase tickets on mega5050.ca due to Location issues?
You may need to update your browser or device settings to enable location services. Follow the steps below or try using a different browser.

For iOS devices:
1) Go to the Settings App.
2) Go to Privacy.
3) Go into Location Services.
4) Ensure "Location Services" are on.
5) Scroll down and click "Safari Websites."
6) Make sure that Allow Location Access is set to "While Using the App."

Clear cache & cookies, close and re-launch browser and attempt to purchase again after the above changes have been applied.

Chrome has the same setting if you are using that instead.

For Android (though this may vary by version):
1) Go to Settings App.
2) Go to Location and make sure that it is on.
3) Go back to previous screen and go to Apps.
4) Go to Chrome.
5) Click Permissions.
6) Ensure that Location is enabled.

Clear cache & cookies, close and re-launch browser and attempt to purchase again after the above changes have been applied.

Note: If still experiencing problems, go to maps.google.com in your browser and see where it places you.

 

Privacy & Publicity

Q. Will my name be publicized if I am a winner?

In accordance with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) regulations, winner information must be collected and provided to the AGCO, including ticket number, full name and contact information.

Winner information will also be published to the Niagara Mega 50/50 Lottery website. By claiming a prize, winners consent to the use of their photograph, first and last name, ticket number, city/town of residence, and the audio/video recording (or written transcription) of the winner notification telephone call, for any publicity purposes by Hospice Niagara. Winner information may be released to the news media and may be used in advertising for the Niagara Mega 50/50 Draw advertisement, or Hospice Niagara’s future events.

 

Q. I got a call from someone asking for my banking information. Is this a legit call?

We will never ask you for your baking details. All Niagara Mega 50/50 prizes are distributed via cheque.

 

Responsible Gaming

Q. I think I, or someone I know, may have a problem with gambling. What should I do?
